Walk-through metal detectors. Entrance screening set up for your building

A walk-through metal detector at the entrance shows whether the person walking through it is carrying a metal object, without a pat-down. We install the walk-through (door-frame) detector, bring power to it, set the sensitivity to what needs finding and test it with sample objects before use. We choose a spot away from large metal masses and motors, which can interfere with it. We're a Valjevo firm, and we'll come to Belgrade or anywhere else in the country when called.

What we do

  • A walk-through detector for entrance screening
  • Sensitivity set for the objects you're screening for
  • Testing with sample objects before first use
  • Power and cabling to the detector's spot
  • Lights showing the height of the metal, on multi-zone models
  • A spot away from large metal masses and electric motors
  • Fixing the frame to the floor so it stays steady

When you need it

  • You're running an event or a venue where visitors are checked at the door, and you want everyone checked the same way.

  • Metal objects such as tools, parts or phones must not be carried into or out of your plant. A detector checks for them at the entrance and exit.

  • Your offices have a secure zone, such as an archive or a meeting room, that people enter only after screening.

Good to know

A walk-through detector creates an electromagnetic field in the passage and reacts when metal disturbs it. That's why its surroundings matter too: steel columns, metal doors that move, electric motors, power cables and even some fluorescent lights. Manufacturers recommend keeping a distance from such sources, and the frame has to stand firmly, because vibration can cause a false alarm as well. So we choose the spot before mounting, not after.

How we work

  1. You tell us the purpose.

Tell us what needs detecting, how many people pass through and at which entrance, and send us a picture of the spot, with the walls, doors and equipment around it.

  2. We choose the spot.

We check for metal structures, motors or power cables close by, then place the frame where there is least interference.

  3. We mount the frame.

We fix the frame to the floor, bring in power and switch the detector on, then check that it stays quiet when nobody walks through.

  4. We set the sensitivity.

We set the sensitivity and zones for the objects you're screening for, so the detector reacts to them and as rarely as possible to small items such as belts or coins.

  5. We test before use.

We walk sample objects through the frame at several heights and check that the alarm sounds and, on multi-zone models, that it shows the right height.

Does the detector react to keys and phones?

It does if the sensitivity is set high: the detector then picks up smaller items, such as keys or a phone. At a lower setting it reacts only to larger pieces of metal. So the sensitivity is set to what you want to find, and visitors usually put small items in a tray before walking through.

How can I check the detector is still working properly?

Use a sample object: someone with no metal on them walks through carrying an item like the ones you're screening for, and the detector must go off. Do this regularly and always the same way, for example at the start of each day or shift. If the detector doesn't react or goes off for no reason, call 060 3408993.

How much does a fitted walk-through metal detector cost?

A multi-zone detector, which shows the metal's height, costs more than a basic one, so the model sets most of the price. Fitting means running power to the spot and bolting the frame down, and each extra lane needs its own frame. To suggest a model, we need to know what you're screening for and how many people pass through.
