FAQ. What people ask before they call
Here are the questions about power cuts and breakers, cameras and alarms, intercoms, gates, networks and repairs, grouped by type of work. A question about a single service takes you to that service's page, where the answer is. If your question isn't here, call us on 060 3408993 or send us a message on Viber.
General questions
Power cuts, work for businesses, booking, where we work, what to tell us and get ready, and where to see our work.
The power is out. Do I call you or the grid operator?
If your neighbours have no power either, call Elektrodistribucija Srbije. If it's just you, check the fuse board.
- Burning smell or scorch marks? Turn off the main switch if it's safe, then call us, or the fire service on 193 if there's smoke.
- Otherwise, reset a tripped breaker once.
- If it trips again or nothing has tripped, call 060 3408993.

Do you work for businesses, shops and industrial units?
Yes. We work in business premises too: office lighting, floor boxes for power and data, distribution boards, cameras and access control, and machine power feeds in industrial units. You can see some of these jobs on our Facebook page. Call 060 3408993, tell us what the premises are like and what needs doing, and we'll take it from there.

What should I tell you when I call?
Just tell us what isn't working or what you want done, what kind of building it is and where it is. If you can, send us a photo of the fuse board or the spot where the equipment will go, on Viber or WhatsApp, or by email. That way, after the first call, we already know what to bring.

How do we agree a time?
We agree a time for each job separately, by phone or by message. Call 060 3408993 or message us on Viber or WhatsApp, tell us what needs doing and where the building is, and we'll find a day that suits us both. A job in Belgrade or another town is arranged the same way.

Can I see your work anywhere?
Yes. We post photos of finished jobs, with the place and date, on the Our work page of this site, and photos from our jobs on our Facebook page, Srećko Elektro 93. On the site we never show house numbers, and a client's name only with their written permission. If you're planning something similar, call 060 3408993 and describe it.

What should I get ready before you come?
It's enough that the fuse board and the spots where the equipment goes are easy to reach, so move any furniture, boxes or stock out of the way. If you have old wiring documents, a floor plan or the manual for an existing device, have them to hand. Also tell us whether you have pets and where we can park.
Power and wiring
Tripping breakers, rewiring, new builds and a home charger for an electric car.
Why does my breaker trip when I turn on the water heater or washing machine?
Usually because the circuit is overloaded or the appliance itself is faulty. If the RCD (FID sklopka) trips, current is leaking somewhere, often through a worn water heater element or because of damp. That switch protects you from electric shock, so don't keep resetting it. Call us on 060 3408993 and we'll find the cause.

What is an RCD (FID sklopka), and how do I check it works?
An RCD (FID sklopka) cuts the power as soon as current escapes the circuit, through damp, a faulty appliance or a person, protecting you from electric shock. Press the T button on the RCD itself: it must switch the power off at once. Try this every few months, and if it doesn't, call us on 060 3408993.

When should I call you about wiring a house under construction?
Before plastering, while the walls are still bare. That's when cables, back boxes and conduit for internet, TV and cameras go in easily; after plastering, any change means chasing the walls. Call us once the shell is up and you know where the kitchen, bathroom and big furniture go, so the sockets fit around them.

Security and surveillance
What CCTV costs, how to watch footage on your phone and what a camera may film.
Can I see what my cameras are recording on my phone?
Yes, through an app: you can watch live and recorded video wherever you are. You need internet where the recorder is, and most modern recorders and cameras work with a phone app. At handover we set up the app on your phone and show you how to find a recording and share access with your family.

Can I point my camera at the street or my neighbour's yard?
It's best to point cameras only at your own property, not the street or a neighbour's yard. If the view still catches someone else's windows or part of the street, the angle should be changed. We don't give legal advice; for filming public areas, the authority is Serbia's data protection commissioner (Poverenik).

Networks, sound and smart home
Low-voltage work, a smart home without breaking into walls, and which part of the internet installation we do.
What is "slaba struja" (low-voltage work)?
It's the name for installations that mainly carry signals and data rather than powering household appliances: internet and TV cabling, cameras, intercoms, alarms, sound systems and access control. They run at low voltage or over a network cable, and they're kept apart from power cables. When building, fit them at the same time as the wiring.

Can a flat become a smart home without breaking into the walls?
Usually. Wireless modules go behind your existing switches or into the shutter box, so you run the lights and shutters from an app and the walls stay untouched. For new builds and bigger renovations, when the walls are being chased anyway, a wired system is better. Photograph the switches and shutters, and we'll tell you what suits your flat.

Do you provide the internet connection?
No, your internet provider brings the connection to the building; we do the installation inside, from their equipment onwards. We run cables from the router or modem to rooms and desks, fit a rack cabinet and network equipment in offices, and TV cabling too. That way even the furthest room gets steady internet, with no cables on the floor.

Service and maintenance
What to check when a camera, alarm or gate stops, before you get in touch.
My camera, alarm or gate has stopped. What should I check first?
First check that it has power and its socket works. If its breaker has tripped, reset it once only. For a gate, change the battery in the remote; if the cameras don't show on your phone, check the internet router. Don't open any casings. If nothing helps, send us a description or short video of the fault on Viber.
